Book Review - 'My Magic Family' by Lotte Jeffs (Writer), Sharon Davey (Illustrator)

 'There are billions of families,

million ways to be...

and in my magic family it's
Mama,
Mum
and me.
'

'My Magic Family' - a magical rhyming children's picture book all about families. And friendships and community.

It's set in a fantasy land filled with fairies, witches, wizards, superheroes, space people, pirates, strong princesses with swords, dragons, and mermaids, and it is filled with LBGTQ+ people and people of colour. Same gender parents, single parents, stepparents, divorced parents (implied), grandparents, only children, and children with loads of siblings, are highlighted. All is inclusive and diverse. And the children's nursery school teacher wears a hearing aid.

Can I live in this world, please? It seems perfect to me.

I cannot stress enough how highly, mightily and vitally I recommend 'My Magic Family' to everyone, of any age.

It's the new 'Heather Has Two Mummies''Molly's Family''And Tango Makes Three''A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo''Maiden & Princess''Prince & Knight''Itty-Bitty Kitty-Corn''The Girl Who Loves Bugs''Love, Violet', and 'Cinder & Ella'. Keep the LBGTQ+ children's picture books coming!

Family is love. That's a magic all on its own.

'There are billions of families,
million ways to be...
but of the all MY favourite is MamaMum and me.

Families are interesting,
each different from the rest.
There isn't one that's perfect,
not one kind that's best.

But a family
 is magic,
no matter who is who.

Real and fantastical...

... they're full of love for
YOU!
'

Final Score: 5/5
