A Critic recommendation

I have decided, after years of following her work, to finally call attention to one of my favourite online film critics, MaryAnn Johanson. Below is a link to her review of Red Sparrow, and she manages in a single piece to perfectly highlight and tear apart everything about Hollywood misogyny today (plus the rise of the horrifying exploitation of the under-thirty-years-old Jennifer Lawrence), and audiences' participating in and encouraging it. Johanson is an awesome writer and feminist; intersectional, no-nonsense, no-BS, brave and unstoppable. I highly recommend that as many people as possible read her reviews, which are on her website, as well as Rotten Tomatoes and Letterboxd (I'd only just found out that website existed myself).

She is just one of the disgracefully-overlooked and underappreciated female film critics that the world happens to need right now, and a big inspiration to me.
