Will everyone please, PLEASE stop being so harsh and quick to criticise women? This goes for women both in real life and in fiction stories. 

Unless she has actively and directly said or done something that's harmful, horrible and offensive, without genuinely apologising, then for the love of Cassandra, Medusa, Pandora and every one of the billions of tragic, victimised women throughout the world's history and stories, cut her some slack. It's no wonder that so many women and girls are so afraid to speak their minds and do anything that might get them attention; afraid to take up any measure of space - every single tiny thing about them will be scrutinised. They will be judged for any stupid reason; any excuse to hate and dismiss them as inferior and unworthy. Everything they do risks their ostracization, their shame, and their disgrace. When it's men who are in their exact position, and far worse, they face no punishment or ruination. Because they're seen as "men being men"; it's "boys will be boys", all over again. And over and over again, nonstop. 

It's no wonder there are so few female leaders in the world! 

They make mistakes? Guess what, EVERYBODY MAKES MISTAKES! IT'S WHAT MAKES US HUMAN! NOBODY CAN BE PERFECT, IT'S LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE!

Everyone, please, just leave women alone and give them a break. Don't you think they've suffered enough? You are hating them just for daring to exist, at this point. It's 2020, where they are in more danger than ever before; more victimised, in terror for their rights and very lives, than before. You hate women for being free. For being human. That's textbook misogyny. 

And stop being so critical and hateful towards films and TV shows with female protagonists - just because they might not be about you and what you wanted out of them - while you're at it. Perfection doesn't exist, deal with it.

We need to do better. Everything is at stake when misogyny (and misogynoir, and transmisogyny, and any of the countless myriad of types of human bigotry - wow we are terrible) reigns supreme.
