My hair is so thick that it would take an hour to dry it completely. Tell me, who wants to waste an hour of their day drying their hair? Even cut short, it makes no difference. It's ridiculous. If I were a film or TV actor my characters wouldn't be written to be anywhere near water, because of the nightmare of having to dry my hair quickly afterwards, for a next take or scene.
Thick hair don't care, but sometimes I do. I've always been made to feel ashamed of it when I was very young (and fussy and stroppy, but the adults' profound negative attitude towards me didn't help); and despite reassurances from my parents and hairdressers, that anxiety hasn't exactly gone away. I'm told that it is a nice, enviable colour, though.
