Latest cinema news: I've seen 'A Wrinkle in Time' and 'Love, Simon'. 'A Wrinkle in Time' is a nice little children's fantasy adventure; I enjoyed it more than the book, at least. Then there's 'Love, Simon', which is as adorable, lovable and relatable as its book. Not to sound patronizing, but it is brave in so many ways in our current times, and it will make anyone teary-eyed.

A young black girl with self-esteem issues who's smart and who saves the universe with the power of love, and a beautiful gay teen coming-of-age story, with emphasis on friendship and family as well as romance. This is powerful cinema - an empowering time for movies.

And as of this writing, 'Black Panther' is the third highest-grossing film in American history.

Diversity. Chance. Change. These are not dirty words. They are honest, they are true. They are not mutually exclusive from good. They sell. There is no pretending that they don't exist or don't matter anymore. Listen, and pay attention.
