Scribble #120

Don't hate bigoted people; pity them, for they are uneducated. If they are wilfully ignorant and outright refuse to be educated about other people and how the world is - if they indulge in their own hatred, as is sadly too often the case - then pity them the more. It is likely that bigots hate themselves as well as the marginalised groups of humans they target, and hate and rage have consumed them so much and for so long that they simply don't know how to live any other way. Don't combat hate with hate. Be better than them. Be the bigger person. Pity those who derive comfort out of hate instead of love. Therapy helps, too.
