Book Review - 'Vampirina in the Snow' by Anne Marie Pace (Writer), LeUyen Pham (Illustrator)

2022 EDIT: From my 'Vampirina Ballerina' review:

I will keep the first 'Vampirina Ballerina' book - I still love it to bits - but not its sequels. The first is the most charming and beautiful, and it most centers on ballet.

Original Review:

'Vampirina in the Snow' is about a cute snowy outing with Vampirina and her family. What plot can actually be gleaned is Vampirina trying to get her goth, bookworm older sister to come out of her coffin, and have fun - and then fall in love with a yeti. Yeah, that happens.

This is a bit less creative and original than the previous picture books in the series, but it's nice and colourful. Ballet is replaced by ice-skating, pretty much. And is this really the final 'Vampirina' book? Where we don't even see any of her human girl-friends? Oh well, regardless: 'Vampirina in the Snow' is wintery, family nighttime fun in the moonlight that's worth checking out.

Also, why is Vampirina's gender-undefined baby sibling yellowish-green? I hope that "PEE-PEE!" cry at the beginning isn't what I think it is.

Final Score: 4/5
