And recently I saw this in my local bookshop, and I just had to take a picture of it, as it is displayed:
If I could buy every edition that exists of one book, that book would be 'Matilda'. Every cover design I've seen throughout my life has been beautiful; childhood literary perfection. The above cover is simple and oh so adorable, similar to most other covers of Roald Dahl's classic masterpiece, and the white and gold really make it stand out. It is just sitting there tranquilly amongst all the other, colourful treasures of children's books on the shelf, its front shown for all the world to see.
It warms my heart every time I look at it. I will keep the photo on my phone, for whenever I need cheering up.
